ONE DAY

Pause for a moment to reflect on this statement:

'One day, perhaps today, I will be seeing you for the last time'

This is true for all of our relationships. Does it make you feel anxious, sad, fearful? Can you be okay allowing these emotions without climbing fully inside them and feeding them?

Does it also make you see how valuable and precious each moment, each day, each person is? Does it fill you with a sense of compassion, kindness and goodwill for all those you encounter today? Does it help you see beyond petty squabbles and differences? Does it help you focus more on what really matters in your life?

These valuable, soothing, healing, loving sentiments come from our deepest understanding of the fragility, uncertainty and impermanence of our lives. These are worth feeding.

Can we live today seeing the nature of things clearly, and with compassion rather than fear?
