DALIT CHILDREN

Those who have seen my previous blogs on Dalit children will know that all who attend my mindfulness and meditation sessions will be making a contribution towards supporting the poorest children in India. Equanimity is active in sponsoring the education of such children. This is the path out of dire, life threatening poverty for these young ones. For years now, I have pledged £1 in every £5 to the Supporting Dalit Children charity. This will continue and I am pleased to remind anyone who has found benefit from our sessions that in attending they are also providing benefit for some of the poorest children in the world. Thank you.

Why Equanimity?

Equanimity comes from the Latin aequanimitas which translates as 'equal' (aequus) 'mind' (animus). Perhaps we could say 'calm', 'composed' mind. but let's stay with the direct translation, EQUAL MIND

The Keeper of the Flame.

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR MIND AS IF YOU ARE THE KEEPER OF A FLAME. TEND THE FLAME SO THAT IT DOESN'T BURN TOO HOT AND OUT OF CONTROL. PAY ATTENTION SO THAT IT DOESN'T DIE DOWN AND BE BLOWN OUT BY A GUS
